Putin's Allies: Russia Now Fighting NATO in Ukraine
One of President Vladimir Putin's closest allies, Nikolai Patrushev, said that Moscow is currently fighting the United States-led NATO military coalition in Ukraine. Patrushev, who currently holds the position of Secretary of the Russian Security Council, believes that the West is trying to remove Russia from the political map of the world.
"The incident in Ukraine is not a clash between Moscow and Kyiv - this is a military confrontation between Russia and NATO, and in particular the United States and Britain," Patrushev told the Argumenti i Fakti mass media, Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
"The idea of the West to continue to separate Russia, and ultimately remove it from the political map of the world," Patrushev said.
Putin called the war in Ukraine an existential fight with an aggressive and haughty West. The Kremlin leader made it clear that Russia would use all measures to protect itself and its people from any aggressor.
Patrushev is seen by some diplomats as one of the special hardline impacts on Putin, who has promised victory in Ukraine, despite a series of slumps on the battlefield.
The United States opposes Russia's claim if it wants to undermine Russia, the country with the most natural resources in the world. But President Joe Biden warned that the dispute between Russia and NATO could spur World War 3 .
Russia's aggression into Ukraine on February 24, 2022 has spurred one of the most dangerous disputes in Europe since World War 2. This resulted in the most confrontation between Moscow and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Critical, when the Soviet Union and the United States were on the verge of a deliberate nuclear war.
The United States and its Western allies are swearing Russian aggression at Ukraine as an imperial land grab, while Ukraine has vowed to fight until the last Russian army is removed from its territory.
Russia Alone
As a former Soviet spy who recognized Putin since the 1970s, Patrushev's vision gave discourse on considerations at the highest levels of the Kremlin. He dismissed CIA Director William Burns' 2021 warning of aggression into Ukraine.
In his Soviet-style analysis of the West, Patrushev mentioned that Western political elites are corrupt and controlled by transnational corporations and corporate clans that plan and carry out "color revolutions" around the world.
"The American state is just a shell for a large corporate conglomerate that controls the country and tries to lead the world," Patrushev said.
The United States, Patrushev said, is already spreading unrest in Afghanistan, Vietnam and the Middle East, and has been trying all year round to weaken Russia's "unique" culture and language.
Patrushev believes Russia was a victim of Western design to push it back to the banks of the 15th-era Muscovy. He accused the West of using Ukraine to destroy Russia.
"There is no place for our country in the West," he said.
In response, he said, Russia will achieve economic sovereignty and financial independence but also make the force carry special weapons and services that can hinder prospective aggressors. Russian ventures and private capital, he said, need to be more "nationally focused".
"The rising generation should be inspired by some innovative creation ideas for the needs of our Motherland, and not sit in the offices of Western corporations," Patrushev said.
