Pele Passed Away, His Farewell Message When Diego Maradona Died Is Now a Reality

When Brazilian football legend Pele died, his farewell message to Diego Maradona, who passed away two years ago, was trending on social media.

Pele, whose complete name is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, died on Thursday (29/12/2022) afternoon at 15:27 on the spot or Friday (31/12/2022) morning WIB.

He breathed his last at the age of 82 at Albert Einstein Hospital, Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Before he died, Pele underwent intense hospitalization for about a month and tried to challenge colon cancer that he had been suffering from since September 2021.

In addition, the Brazilian national team legend was attacked by other diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure.

The Albert Einstein Hospital faction explained that Pele died "due to some organ inadequacy due to changes in colon cancer related to his initial clinical state."

After the news of Pele's death spread, the message he recorded when Diego Maradona, who died at the age of 60 on November 25, 2020, spread in the virtual universe.

On @pele Instagram social media, Pele wrote that she lost a close friend.

Pele is known as one of the legends in the world of football.

He's already set a great record as far back as his career, whether at club level or at national team level.

Pele was one of the football players who had won three World Cup cups, namely in the 1958, 1962, and 1970 editions.

He is listed as the top scorer for the Brazilian national team with a record of 77 goals in 92 games since his career on 7 July 1957.

This record of 77 goals was eventually matched by Neymar when Brazil challenged Croatia in the 2022 World Cup Qatar, but the 30-year-old has only been able to score all those goals in 122 games.

At club level, Pele set a certain record as the most goalscorer in a calendar year.
