Turkish President Signals Ground Offensive into Syria and Iraq, Erdogan: We Will Decide Together
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the opportunity of a land onslaught in northern Syria and Iraq.
He gave this recognition after an air strike targeting the Kurdistan Employees Party (PKK) in Iraq and the Syrian-affiliated People's Protection Unit (YPG).
"This is not just limited to the onslaught of air," Erdogan told reporters, Monday (11/21/2022).
"We're going to make those who harass us in our area pay."
"We will consult with the ministry of defence and our general staff and decide together how far our ground forces need to play a role, then take appropriate steps. "
Turkish onslaught into Syria and Iraq
Turkey's Defense Ministry initially targeted 89 points to attack PKK and YPG militant bases on Sunday (11/20/2022).
The Turkish onslaught on Monday was in retaliation for the onslaught of bombs in Istanbul, Turkey on Sunday (11/13/2022) that killed two Turkish people and injured 81 others, taken from the Financial Times.
The Kurdistan Ranks of Employees (PKK) had initially opposed its links to the bombings in Istanbul.
However, a secured female defendant explained that she got a job from Syria.
In a torrent of Turkish retaliation into northern Syria and Iraq, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights described a minimum of 35 deaths in Syria.
Turkey's defense ministry explained its faction continued its "response" to acts of terrorism in Istanbul.
Just before the onslaught on Sunday (11/20/2022), Erdogan had already posed a new threat of large amounts of military operations to PKK-affiliated forces in northern Syria over the past few months.
Erdogan had targeted Syrian-Turkish banks, such as Kobane (Ayn al-Arab), Tal Rifaat and Manbij, which are controlled by the Kurdish-led Syrian Democrats.
He wants to stop the ranks he considers to be affiliated with the PKK, such as the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), from Turkish attacks, taken from Al Jazeera.
But Russia, Iran and many Western countries are already reminiscent of the idea.
Turkey has initially carried out ground military operations in Syria that focus on some areas just across the bank.
The Turkish government believes it is important to have a safe zone along the Syrian bank to allow for the voluntary return of Syrian refugees it contains.
