Thanks to Elon Musk, Twitter Employees Can Work while Sleeping in the Office but so many employees are fired

Elon Musk's relaxed style seems to be followed by Twitter employees. Recently, a photo of a Twitter employee sleeping on the floor of the company's office was spread.

The last employee was Twitter product management director Esther Crawford.

"When you need something from your boss on twitter," Evan Jones, product manager for Twitter Spaces, explained in a tweet published on 2:16 a.m. ET, Wednesday on-site time.

Crawford retweeted the photo with the caption, "When your team goes out of their way to make deadlines, sometimes you #SleepWhereYouWork."

The photo coincides with reports that Elon Musk's team is moving Twitter employees hard to apply the applied switch to the base, with tight deadlines.

Insiders got an internal message telling some employees "his desire to actually work 24/7", to meet Elon Musk's deadline to change the Twitter user clarification process.

The report explained that some employees are worried they could lose their tasks if they can't complete a project by the end of the week.

Elon Musk is popular for sleeping on the factory floor because Tesla is trying to meet its production goals.

Crawford followed up the photo with a series of tweets after the post drew some alarming responses on social media.

"Because some people are out of their minds, I'll explain: doing some hard things requires sacrifices (time, energy, etc)," Crawford said.

"I have a team partner all over the world who are trying to bring something new to life, it's important for me to be there for them and keep the team from getting blocked."

"I work with some great people with potential and ambition here on Twitter and this is not a normal event," Crawford continued quoted by the New York Post website, Friday (4/11/2022).

"We're less than a week into a big shift in business and culture. Some people give it in all roles: product, design, eng, legal, finance, marketing, etc."

"We are #OneTeam and we use the hashtag #LoveWhereYouWork to show, that's why I retweeted with #SleepWhereYouWork — a mischievous nod to both Tweeps. We've been in the midst of acquiring a good audience for a few months but we're on the road and I'm really happy with our ability and resilience," he continued.

The photo drew a series of sharp responses on Twitter from wearers who felt they were sleeping on the office floor too much.

"A manager who values you or your skills doesn't make you #SleepWhereYouWork to take care of your duties," TechCrunch editorial manager Walter Thompson replied.

Twitter will notify its employees via electronic mail (e-mail) on Friday, November 4, 2022, about whether they have been suspended, temporarily closed their offices, and withheld staff access. The decision came after a week of uncertainty over the company's future under new owner Elon Musk.

The well-known social media company explained in an e-mail to its staff that it would remind employees at 9:00 a.m. on-site time or 4:00 p.m. GMT of the termination of their employees' employment relations.

"In an effort to put Twitter in a healthy lane, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce on Friday," reads the electronic letter sent on Thursday, November 3, 2022.

Twitter said its offices will be temporarily closed and all access cards will be cancelled to help ensure the safety of each employee and Twitter's mechanisms and loyal consumer data.

According to the memorandum, the social media base said Twitter employees who were not affected by the layoffs would be notified via their office e-mail addresses.

Staff who have been terminated will be notified in the next way to their individual e-mail addresses.

Twitter doesn't respond to the desire for comments.

Statement Termination of employment closes 1 week of cleaning by Musk as he demands a large fare cut and enforce an aggressive new spirit of work across all those social media companies.

According to two sources familiar with the matter and Slack's internal messages seen by Reuters, Musk has directed the Twitter team to find annual infrastructure cost savings of up to US$1 billion.

He has already cleared the company's senior ranks, expelling CEOs, CFOs and top executives for legal regulation. In the last week, the termination of employment occurred in the advergence, marketing, and human resources sections.

The initial week after acquiring Twitter was followed by riots and obscurity. Two face-to-face meetings at all companies were planned, only to be undone moments after that. Employees explained they were silenced through media reports, individual messaging groups, and anonymous communities.

The termination of the employment relationship, long predicted, has cooled Twitter's popular corporate culture and is already respected by some of its employees.

Not long after the e-mail reached Twitter employees, several hundred people flooded the company's stream of Slack to say goodbye. The source explained that one invited Musk to join the stream.

"If you're in the office or commuting to work, please go back home," Twitter said in an electronic letter on Thursday.
