Milan Vs Monza: Brahim Diaz Two Goals, Rossoneri Win 4-1
AC Milan won an absolute 4-1 over Monza in the eleventh giornata of the Italian League. Brahim Diaz became the star of the Rossoneri victory because of the 2 goals he made.
Playing at San Siro, Saturday (22/10/2022), Brahim Diaz scored his goals in the 16th and 41st minutes, followed by goals from Divock Origi in the 65th minute and Rafael in the 84th minute. One of Monza's interlude goals was scored by Filippo Ranocchia in the 70th minute.
With this result, Stefano Pioli's guidance team moved up to 2nd in the provisional standings by collecting 26 points. And Monza is ranked 14th with only 10 points.
Milan opened the lead in the 16th minute. Receiving a long ball from goalkeeper Ciprian Tatarusanu, Brahim Diaz made a solo run from center field.
Although the running lane was disturbed by many Monza players, the Spanish striker successfully penetrated into the penalty area and released the final shooting to break into Monza's goal guarded by Michele Di Gregorio.
Monza is trying to match the position. Patrick Ciurria took off a long-range shot in the 22nd minute, but his shot was successfully caught by Tatarusanu.
Milan attacked back in the 23rd minute. Divock Origi took the shot off the net, but it was easy to be reckoned with by Di Gregorio. In the 24th minute, Monza attacked again, but Stefano Sensi's long-range shot was successfully thwarted by Tatarusanu.
Monza kept trying to suppress Milan. Ciurria's cross in the 28th minute into the penalty area was a success in Carlos Augusto's header in front of the Milan goal, but Tatarusanu again managed to save his goal from the net.
Origi got his 2nd chance of the game in the 33rd minute, but his close-range shot narrowly missed the right of Monza's goal. It wasn't until the 41st minute that Milan successfully added the lead.
Crossing noted Origi from the right side was successfully received by Diaz in the Monza penalty area. He then changed his body, took the ball through Luca Caldirola and took a shot into the left corner of the goal, beating Di Gregorio for the 2nd time.
The score was 2-0 closing the first set.
In the 2nd set, Milan almost scored a lightning goal in the 48th minute through Ante Rebic's close-range shot, but was successfully helped by Di Gregorio. It wasn't until the 65th minute that Milan successfully scored the 3rd goal.
Receiving Junior Messias' pass, Divock Origi took control of the ball for a moment and then unleashed a long-range shot that nestled absolutely in the right corner of Monza's goal. This was the first time goal for the Rossoneri this season.
Missing 3 goals, Monza did not surrender. In the 70th minute, they successfully thinned the gap. Through free kick, Filippo Ranocchia scored a goal after his shot nestled absolutely in the right corner of the goal unable to be cleared by Tatarusanu.
The goal briefly made Monza's spirits rise again, but Milan in the end managed to score the 4th goal to secure the victory. In the 84th minute, Theo Hernandez made a stab into the penalty area from the left side, and then took off a horizontal pass to the middle.
There was Rafael Leao waiting, and calmly he took off a shot that nestled into the left corner of Monza's goal. The 4-1 score lasted until it was over.
