Chelsea vs Wolves result
The polish of new coach Graham Potter again brought victory in the Chelsea vs Wolves match.
Chelsea coach Graham Potter was able to come up with a surefire strategy to stifle Wolves' resistance until his team won 3-0.
Goals by Kai Havertz, Christian Pulisic and Armando Broja provided an additional 3 points for Chelsea.
This is a hat trick of victories after defeating Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League and AC Milan 3-0 in the Champions League.
The defeat further left Wolves in a slump despite sacking coach Bruno Lage and appointing Steve Davies as his replacement.
Facing Wolves, Potter made a rotation by resting Thiago Silva, and put Reece James, Raheem Sterling and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench.
Pulisic and Haverts were trusted on the attacking line to pound a defence that had already conceded nine goals.
While Wolves fielded former Chelsea striker Diego Costa as their bomber.
In the first half, after creating so many chances Chelsea only managed to break the deadlock in injury time.
Starting from Mason Mount's pass, Havertz headed the ball that slid into Jose Sa's goal.
In the second half, Wolves made a substitution by attracting Goncalo Guedes and Costa, then inserting Joe Hodge and Hwang Hee-chan.
However, the game only lasted nine minutes, Wolves conceded again. This time it came from Pulisic's football that took advantage of Mount's assist.
Despite being two goals ahead, Chelsea continued to apply pressure to Wolves' defense. Their efforts bore fruit after Armando Braja scored the third goal in the 89th minute.
The 3-0 scoreline remained unchanged and Chelsea were comfortably in fourth place with 16 points, one point adrift of third-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
For Chelsea, this was the first win they have achieved in the last five games against Wolves.
In the previous four games, Chelsea swallowed one defeat and three draws.
